Established in 2003, The Social Responsibility Forum (SRF) is the student body of NMIMS that strives to promote social sensitivity amongst MBA students by executing various short-term and long-term civic engagement activities. The activities undertaken by SRF range from conducting various donation drives like Blood Donation/Clothes donation/Toy Donation drives and fund raising activities, to handling long term projects like “Leaders of Tomorrow”, wherein MBA students volunteer in underprivileged schools to conduct personality development classes. Similarly long term projects are also undertaken with Swadhar FinAccess (Micro Finance Organization); Mumbai Votes (Rights Based Organization).To promote the awareness of various social causes through social marketing, SRF actively extends its support to NGOs and Social Enterprises through organizing exhibitions, B-plan contests and knowledge based open dialogue workshops and organizing an Annual NGO Festival- Sadbhavana.Since 2010, SRF has also extended its active support to Jasani Center for Social Entrepreneurship and Sustainability Management, NMIMS to execute the We Care: Civic Engagement Program which is an integral part of their MBA curriculum. Through the We Care: Civic Engagement Programme, MBA students are placed in various public and private sector socially oriented organizations at pan India and international level to work on various social issues and handle specific projects in the areas of education, health, energy, sanitation, micro finance, micro entrepreneurship, disaster management, resource mobilization & management and other areas.
