Fighting hunger is one of the greatest challenges faced by our country. With various NGOs and Government agencies doing their part to combat this, Social Responsibility Forum, NMIMS, decided to do its part in the fight against hunger by organizing a food donation drive as part of the Joy of Giving Week. The drive, aimed at donating food to the hungry and poverty stricken, spanned across three locations in and around Vile Parle.

The first location was near the Milan subway signal. The second was near Vile Parle station where there were a significant number of hunger-stricken individuals. And finally, the volunteers went near Ibis Hotel, Vile Parle East, where quite a few poverty-stricken people were situated, below the Western Express Highway bridge. To ensure that the food was easy to consume and of a reasonable quantity, poha, ladoos and namkeen packets were given.

The joy on the faces of some of the individuals, as they received food, was a heart-warming sight and made the activity all the more worthwhile.
